This simple device that aerates wine instantaneously is the best thing I have spent money on in some time. Based on a principle named after the Italian physicist Venturi, the Vinturi Wine Aerator Decanter noticeably improves the taste and smoothness of any wine, red or white, cheap or expensive, as it is poured. It does what it says it will do and then some.

I would have been skeptical, but I was introduced to it at the home of friends and experienced its effect in a before-and-after taste comparison. When I got home later that evening, I was not in the door five minutes before ordering my own. I have subsequently bought three more as gifts that will be much appreciated. Buy it, enjoy it -it's worth every penny.

After seeing excellent reviews about this product, I decided to try this wine aerator for myself. The aerator even surpassed my expectations! I have an affinity for good 10-year-old red wines and after using this product, even the cheaper, newer wines tasted much better. I own a decanter and I can safely say that I won't have much use for it again. The Vinturi speeds up the breathing process quite well. There are some cheaper wines that I have had to pour through the Vinturi twice (the $5-$7 reds) and it was worth the effort - even they tasted better. I gave one to my Dad for an early fathers day present because whenever I am at his place, he always buys the "cheapest of the cheap" brands of red wine/white wine, and, since I am his son, I'll drink a glass and "gut it out". So when he used it, even he, my taste-dead dad, could tell the difference. I was hoping he wouldn't have noticed. This aerator really works with the cheaper wines, and I actually enjoyed the glass I drank with him. When I got home, I had to go buy another one for myself. It wasn't a hard decision. If you really like red wine, get this product - you won't be dissappointed.

While wine-tasting in Solvang, a wine tasting room used this aerator on a glass of wine. We were able to try a before and after tasting. I was so impressed that I needed to buy it. Months later and I've finally gotten around to it. I bought the cheapest wine I could find. A bottle of Charles Shaw Cab or "2-buck Chuck" as it is known in some circles. I also did a before and after. The "after" was amazing. I've never tasted wine like that straight from the bottle before. The acidity was gone and it became smoother, fruitier. It was amazing.

So we tasted the wine from the newly-opened bottle and thought it was lovely. Anyway, she said, now try it like this: and she poured the wine through the Vinturi Wine Aerator. WOW! It was like drinking two different wines! Can you imagine what it can do for a more expensive bottle of wine? I love my brand new aerator! Definitely a great buy and a great gift for the winos in your family.
